this is how it goes:
i applied for both jae and jpsae. jae is the one everyone applies, and it's purely based on academics. jpsae is the one people apply if they wanna go poly BUT don't make the cut BUT have special talents to offer.
so basically, smart, trying to act as kiasu singaporean me, applied for both.
and i got shortlisted for interview for jpsae. so i gotta prepare a 500word statement of intent, and give them a non-returnable portfolio.
SO SMART RIGHT.
because i'm going to turn up with an almost-empty portfolio, and a crappy SOI. cos (read above if you're not clear) i don't have special talents. i make the cut (yeah i made it with 3 extra points to spare). i have nothing to offer. so i dunno what i'm going to put in the portfolio except for the teachers' recommendations which i just rushed them to write. yeah. feel so bad. cos i only told them a few hours ago. and my interview's on fri morning. 9am.
basically, i was wondering if i should go for the interview. because if i go, i have nothing to offer. i was scared that if i didn't go, they would blacklist me as not interested and my jae would be affected.
so being kiasu me. i'm going.
and i got a shock when temasek poly's head of department of sports called me. cos i put tp's communications and media management as 3rd choice for jpsae (and jae but they didn't know that). and the guy was just wondering if i was interested in joining their bball team. and i rejected them. cos tp's too far. and he made a comment that made me wonder if i really should go for the interview. he said with my score i can do any course i wanted.
that's why i was thinking if i could get into mass comm based purely on my academics and forget bout the jpsae interview.
but anyway. i already confirmed with them that i'm going for the interview. so i'll just see how it goes.
adeline's damn funny btw. she got same marks as me. she also applied for both. she failed her interview. then later when jae postings came out, she got in. HAHA.
i hope if i fail my interview that happens to me too. ):
